The Meteor has a headphone port, thus allowing you to record while hearing the background music, but not picking it up in the microphone. The best thing about the meteor mic, is that it just works. It works well with the plug and play USB, having worked for me on a Windows 7, Windows 8, and Mac osX systems. No downloads or drivers needed. You should see 'FL Studio ASIO (mono) In 1', which would be your Samson Meteor assuming that you've properly selected that as your input device in FL Studio ASIO's control panel. Since there's no need for drivers, you can start recording right out of the box on any computer. And Meteor Mic is compatible with most computer digital audio workstations, video conferencing and VOIP software. And 16-bit, 44.1/48kHz resolution give you professional audio results no matter what you're recording. Apple MAC OSX 1. To start using the Samson Meteor Mic, simply plug it in. After running the Installation program, with the mic plugged in, check in Device Manager to see if the drivers have been loaded. This can be reached by right-clicking My Computer > Properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager button.
If the Samson drivers are loaded, the device under Sound, video and game controllers will be Samson Audio (WDM), and the device under Universal Serial Bus controllers will be Samson C01U. (Samson C01U may be changed to a more generic name for all our similar microphones.)
If the drivers aren't loaded, the system drivers are used. The Samson microphone then shows up under Sound, video and game controllers as USB Audio Device and under Universal Serial Bus controllersas USB Composite Device.

Samson Meteor Mic Setup
Now do the same procedure for the other device if it doesn't do it automatically. (You should do this for both USB Audio Device and USB Composite Device.)
After you're done, their names should change under Device Manager. The device under Sound, video and game controllers will become Samson Audio (WDM), and the device under Universal Serial Bus controllers will become Samson C01U. (Samson C01U may be changed to a more generic name for all our similar microphones.)
The Driver listed under the Driver tab should be different for each, too. Make sure the latest version is shown in the Driver tab for both devices (here it is 1.0.15.0).
If the driver is not the correct version, you should be able to find the latest version by pressing the Update Driver… button.
